Tips to help you get the best from your

JJBXD106 USB Cordless Door Bell

Your USB Doorbell works with MIDI files of type 1 - if any other type of file is uploaded, your PC will display an error message.

The software supplied will enable you to upload Type 1 Midi files to the doorbell - for detailed instructions, see User Manual.

The door chime plays tracks of 8 seconds or less. With longer tracks, only the first 8 seconds will play.

There are many tracks/tunes available for free download on the Internet. If you download a track and it does not work then it may not be of the correct type and you should try downloading from another site.

A MIDI editing software package will enable you to select the best 8 second part of the track to upload.  Suitable packages are available for free download on the Internet. We have successfully used Anvil Studio but do not endorse this product and cannot offer any technical support on this software. If you are using a piece of music you already have on your PC, you may also need to convert it to MIDI file format first using suitable software.

As with any downloads from the internet, please take care and ensure you use an up-to-date virus checker to check files before installation. We cannot take any responsibility for problems that may arise as a result of downloading from the Internet - if you have any concerns please contact a competent computer engineer.

Please email us at sales@absolutform.co.uk if you have any suggestions and we will add suitable tips to this list.
FAQ's:
Q. The midi files will not transfer over?
A. There are 3 types of MIDI files - you need ones of type 1, try downloading from another web site.
Q. I have uploaded the tunes and they play through the doorbell until I remove the USB cable.
A. Double check that the batteries in the bell unit are fitted correctly. The unit takes power from your PC through the USB connection when the lead is connected.
Q. I left clicked on the web page links to hear the midi tunes on line, but how do I download them?
A. Right click on the same link and choose 'Save file As' (wording depends on Windows version), then save the file to a folder on your computer ready for uploading to the doorbell.
Q. Will I have to take the bell push off the door then unscrew the back panel everytime I want to change the tune.
A. No, If you know which channel you have selected in the bell push you can upload a new tune to that location on the doorbell unit.
